Blake Surfacings has been the preferred flooring contractor to Westland Milk Products for the past twenty years. We have completed several large projects for Westland Milk addressing specific hygienic flooring requirements, as well as completing remedial work, non-slip flooring and upgrading slippery polyester to epoxy flooring.
For the large projects we provided a trowel on floor coating allowing for regular hot caustic and acid wash CIP (clean in place) discharge to floor drains. The product used is Sikafloor 91 epoxy floor topping 5mm thick and wall coving 400mm high. The drains were all trowel on using chemical resistant Sika Asplit VEL vinylester resin coating system, with Sikafloor 381 utilized in areas with high exposure to chemicals.
The Architect on these projects was Murray Ackroyd of DLA Architects Ltd who commented favourably on the quality of workmanship achieved, and the quality assurance plan we employed, designed by Max Tombleson, Sika Technical Manager, with whom we work closely for technical support and quality assurance processes.
